All of us face difficult life situations from time to time, but the way we react on them differs greatly. For example, ladies who face atypical depression do not feel sad only, but also sleep and eat a lot, which substantially increases their weight.

Men who develop the same kind of this disorder suffer from loss of appetite and insomnia. Therefore, it is very important to consult your doctor in order to define what type of this disease you have and how serious it is. Other types of depression symptoms in women depend on the type of this disease as well and may be quite serious and even life-threatening (suicidal thoughts and attempts, for instance).

What about the ways of treatment depression in women? These days, doctors may offer you two types of efficient treatment with regard to those specific symptoms you face. These are antidepressant drugs and psychotherapy. The latter option, by the way, is preferred more often, since it does not threaten a patient’s health and is distinguished by its superb efficacy. Still, keep in mind that it is only your doctor who may recommend you any of these solutions depending upon your current health condition.
